While UFCW Local 888 is committed to providing service to its members, we also remain mindful of the economic crisis that we all face.
As such, the Executive Board Members of UFCW Local 888 have approved an Emergency Assistance policy to help members during certain financial hardships. Under this policy, any member, with one year or more of membership who is facing one of the following hardships may apply by completing the required application and providing the necessary supporting documents.
Types of financial hardships:
- Unreimbursed medical expenses for a member, spouse and/or children exceeding $5,000;
- To prevent eviction or foreclosure on member’s principal residence;
- To pay for burial or funeral expenses for the member’s parent, spouse or child; and
- To pay the expenses for the repair of damage caused by a fire to a member’s principal residence.
