A Rapid Response to help Century 21 Members

A Rapid Response to help Century 21 Members

Spanish

UFCW Local 888 has partnered with the Department of Labor to help Century 21 members find new jobs, look for medical coverage and professional development post Century 21 closings.

The Department of Labor has a Rapid Response program that helps workers deal with the effects of layoffs and plant closures. Rapid Response is a pro-active and flexible strategy designed to respond to layoffs and plant closings by quickly coordinating services and providing immediate aid to companies and their affected workers. Rapid Response teams usually provide customized services on-site at an affected company to assist companies and workers through the painful transitions associated with job loss. However, due to the pandemic, their services have been virtually based for health and safety reasons.

For these reasons, UFCW Local 888 has partnered with the Department of Labor to extend these services to our members as soon as the closings of Century 21 was confirmed. While we are sad to see Century 21 close, our priority is our members and how to get them back on their feet to minimize any lay off affects on their families.

Rapid Response Services:

Rapid Response specialists are trained to help workers affected by a layoff or plant closures to cope with job change. They will gather information about your current skills, your career interests, and other needs and begin to organize the services necessary to help you return to work. At orientation meetings, you will be informed about services and benefits designed to help you get back on your feet, including:

In our partnership with the Department of Labor’s Rapid Response program, we will be hosting several virtual orientations to help members get more acquainted with he program and give them the access that they need.

Below are the dates for our virtual orientations:
